Format

Introducing .aal —
the All-AI Language.

A .aal code file window

Your context shouldn't be trapped inside one model. The conversation you had with one assistant, the decisions you reached, the files you referenced — today, all of it usually stays locked to whatever tool created it. Switch models and you start over.

.aal — the All-AI Language is our answer: a portable context format that stores memory and context as a single, model-agnostic file. Write it once; read it anywhere.

What goes in a .aal file

An .aal file is designed to carry everything that gives a memory meaning — not just text, but the structure around it: entities, relationships and the context packs a model needs to pick up where another left off.

Version your knowledge like code: human-readable, diff-friendly, portable.

Why a format, not just an API

Because formats outlive tools. By making context a file you own, .aal lets your knowledge move between GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or a local model — and survive model swaps, session restarts and agent handoffs. It's the substrate beneath Context Fidelity™, our benchmark for how much meaning survives a handoff.

We're still refining the specification. When it's ready, the full spec will live in the Library.
